Solved: unidentified network no internet access windows 7 HP Support Community 1050257

I have 4 computers on the home network running Win7 Home Premium BUT one of them cannot connect to the network via the LAN connection. I get the error message Unidentified Network. There is an excellent tutorial on this subject but this doesn't work for me.

I've recently moved into student accommodation which requires us to register for the Internet , and when running on Windows 7 my laptop (HP G62-107SA) cannot find the internet... I've read countless threads , but have found nothing that really describes my problem. I live on a boat and the only available Internet connection is by Wifi.
